The London Ear with Paddy Cullivan and Naoise Roo

Howdy! Loved this show! I think it has taken a couple of weeks to really get into the two hour edition of The London Ear and today, I was thrilled to Chat to Paddy Cullivan and Naoise Roo.

Irish track #FromTheVault is Metisse’s Boom Boom Ba. You can keep up to date with Metisse on their Facebook page.

Each week, I introduce you to a London-based artist whose work you may not be familiar with. This week’s Sound of the Underground comes from Alice SK. Taken from her EP, ‘Electric’, I played ‘Sweet Like Honey.’

Paddy Cullivan Interview

The London Ear - Paddy Cullivan Interview - The Murder of Michael Collins
Paddy Cullivan’s The Murder of Michael Collins

I’m delighted I managed to catch up with Paddy Cullivan. He’s a busy man! We grabbed a few minutes for a chat in between sound checks and shows. Paddy has been described as a historical entertainer, and he’s bringing his show ‘The Murder of Michael Collins’ to the UK and to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith for a couple of shows. It actually sounds fascinating! Paddy explores what actually happened at Béal an Bláth through stories and song.

As a side, after I spoke to Paddy, I was chatting with my friend, Joseph, who told me they had seen Paddy’s show ‘The Two Murders of Wolfe Tone’ and thought it was excellent!

You can find out more on Paddy’s website, you can book tickets for the London shows here.

Naoise Roo Interview

Unfortunately, clashing schedules meant I didn’t get to meet Naoise Roo in person. Instead, we chatted with me in South East London and Naoise in the Kent coastal town of Broadstairs.

Naoise has recently released the expanded edition of her album ‘Lilith’, with versions of songs remixed by John Agnello and Jerome Froese.

It was great to chat to Naoise and get to know her. She has another record due to for release towards the end of the year, really looking forward to that.

If you’d like to find out more about Naoise Roo, you can head over to Twitter, Insta, or Facebook. You can also head to Spotify. The expanded edition of ‘Lilith’ will be released on April 29th.
