Ah oui! C'est la derniere weekend de la tour et je me souviens le temps quand j'ai pris cette photo.

I was walking up the stairs at Gloucester Road tube station and I immediately knew what was lying on the steps. Un billet de metro de Paris.

I remember the first time we went to Paris, we went into a tiny place on the corner at Pigalle, I asked for the billet. The kind waiter said 'No, c'est l'addition!' Merci, Monsieur Serveur! He got a decent tip!

It would be great to get to France, there are a couple of little places I really want to check out. But, right now my priority is to get home to Ireland.
Hopefully, all going well, I will be there in a couple of weeks.

If I've made mistakes en francais, please tell me. I'm shite at English too.

Our Home Thoughts from Abroad Blog this month is from Vanessa Monaghan. Vanessa is the chairperson of London Irish LGBT Network as well as a radio presenter RTE 2XM, podcast producer and blogger. We were delighted when Vanessa agreed to produce a blog for us and as she points out in her honest and insightful blog :
"Many Irish had to leave the country as they couldn’t be themselves. Their jobs and lives were shrouded in secrecy. Homosexuality was only decriminalised in 1993. These stories along with learning of how many Gay Irish HIV+ people, predominately men had to come to London in the 1980s for treatment, as none was available in Ireland, really struck a chord with me.
Many of these people died in London and never got to go home. Many of their families never knew they were gay or that they died of HIV/AIDS related illnesses. They deserve recognition. Their stories and memory cannot be forgotten".
