Following on from quite a successful debut, Spirit of Folk will be back again this year in Dunderry Co. Meath from September 21st to 23rd, celebrating all things folk, with musicians and storytellers from all over Ireland and the UK coming together for a weekend of music, arts, craft, spirituality, philosophy and folklore. So successful was the festival that it was shortlisted at this years European Festival Awards for Best New Festival 2011. Not bad going!
The full line up for 2012 wont be announced until later in the year but organsiers have a fundraising gig happening in Whelan’s of Wexford St with a door tax of 10. Some of the musical refreshment on the night will be provided by The Hot Sprockets, The Young Folk, Bunoscionn and TRAZ.
