PrettyvacanT Dublin presents Shoot The Tiger: Artist Talk

Shoot the Tiger Dublin ExhibitionPrettyvacanT are a group headed by Louise Marlborough, who convert and use vacant premises for the exhibition of art. It’s a pretty cool idea as there are so many buildings around the city centre that lie dormant.

‘Shoot The Tiger’ is a project that has been running since March 16 and ends this Saturday (tomorrow) March 31st. ‘Shoot The Tiger’ is a group project showing artwork that has been ‘created since 2008 under the new constraints of an economically damaged nation’.

‘The work represents an emotional and artistic response to a post-Crash Ireland and features artists working to make their voice heard in an ever-uncertain economic reality. The art represents concepts of decline, collapse and failure, but also of optimism and hope.’

As part of the final day, there will be an Artist Talk taking place at 12 noon on Saturday 31st March at Unit 3, James Joyce Street, Dublin 1. There will be a short introduction to the show by PrettyvacanT Dublin’s Director followed by an informal talk about their work by Aoife Flynn and Blaithin Quinn; two of the exhibiting artists.
