All over the country today artists and arts organisations are participating in a National Day of Action to protect funding for the arts. We are meeting TDs and celebrating what we do with special events.
Our message is simple. The arts are a necessity. Not a luxury. The arts are an asset. Not an overhead. The arts enhance our reputation, generate growth, drive tourism and enrich us as citizens.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a film, a play, a gig or an exhibition, please support the National Campaign for the Arts. While we accept that money is sparse and sacrifices are being made across society, there is a real danger that further cuts will obliterate one of Ireland’s strengths – its culture. On a basic economic level, further cuts make no sense – the arts generate more for the economy than they cost to fund. All you have to do is visit www.ncfa.ie There you will see ‘Email your TDs Just click on it, choose your constituency, sign it and it will automatically email all the TDs in your area on your behalf. It takes about 1 min – tops!
We know you understand this. Please add your voice to our campaign.
Thank you for your support.
