I just got the full line up for Indie Week which kicks off in Sweeney Mongrels on Dame Street, Dublin on May 11th with 10 bands playing on the night. it’s a 4 day music festival taking place in Dublin and Belfast with the winners of the Canadian Indie Week, These Electric Lives will be headlining every night. Looking forward to seeing some bands I haven’t seen before and a couple I haven’t seen in a while.

Based in Toronto, Indie Week is in its 8th year and is a twice-annual music festival that takes place in Ireland each spring and Canada each fall. In Ireland, we seek promising up-and-comers, showcase them before industry, and bring the best home with us for Indie Week Canada 2011.
The Canadian festival showcases 160+ acts over 4 nights, and in 2010, bands from a total of 10 countries were involved. The focus of the festival is to showcase emerging indie acts while opening the doors to foreign markets. Indie Week Canada has hosted an Irish showcase for 3 years, always to a sold out crowd. And each year an Irish act has gained Canadian management – not a bad success rate!
In Ireland the festival is growing and we aim to expand to a similar format
