Yesterday, The Legend That Is George Michael, announced the release of his new album. Since George’s Facebook and Website changed over Christmas to reveal an image of the red curtain that surrounded the stage during the Symphonica tour, it’s hardly surprising that the new album, is a live album from that tour.
The album comes out on March 17th, in standard, deluxe and Blu-ray audio versions and those in the UK who pre-order will be entered into a draw to attend the screening of a documentary made about the Symphonica tour. I’ll be honest here, I’m a little disappointed that George’s cover of Rihanna’s Russian Roulette isn’t on there, cos it was simply stunning and if it was released could easily go Top Ten.
Anyway, To coincide with the release Yog has given visitors to his website a free download of his 1990 single, ‘Praying for Time’, from the Symphonica Tour, complete with updated lyrics. So nip over there and get your mitts on it now.
The first proper lead single is George’s rendition of the Terence Trent D’arby track, ‘Let Her Down Easy’ and is due the same day as the album. A video for ‘Let Her Down Easy’ sees George team up again with ‘Fastlove’ Director Vaughan Arnell.
Quick Flashback: Here’s my interview with Shirley Lewis and Lucy Jules, George’s backing singers, from November 2011 when George played in Dublin.
Hurrah for George!
