Today sees the first rehearsals for Fiona Looney’s new play ‘Greener’, which will have its World Premier on May 1st at The Gaiety Theatre.
Here’s the blurb and booking details:
Six years ago, Pauline McLynn and Deirdre OKane played best friends and neighbours pulling up Dandelions in Fiona Looneys smash-hit debut comedy.
Greener reunites the two actresses in a gloriously funny, heartbreaking new play which is the third and final instalment in a trilogy of plays by Looney which included Dandelions and October starring Victoria Smurfit.
Greener features an all star cast of actors known both on stage and on screen. Joining PAULINE MCLYNN (Father Ted, Shameless) and the award-winning actress and comedienne DEIRDRE OKANE (Paths to Freedom, My Brilliant Divorce) will be LORCAN CRANITCH best known for his role as Cracker, DECLAN CONLON (The Tudors, Raw) and making his debut on the Gaiety Stage, rising star RYAN ANDREWS (Fair City, The Clinic).
Greener will be directed by JIMMY FAY ( Irish Times Theatre Award winner for Saved at the Abbey) with set by TONY-nominated JOE VANEK (Dancing at Lughnasa). Joe and Jimmy worked together most recently on the smash-hit Ross OCarroll-Kelly play Between Foxrock and a Hard Place, also produced by Landmark.
Greener is produced by Landmark Productions, which recently won a Judges Special Award at the 2011 Irish Times Theatre Awards, in association with the Gaiety Theatre and MCD
