It’s cold, it’s dark, it’s the end of November. One way to get out of the winter blues is to press play on ‘Rich Man’, the new single from Shout Timber. It’s upbeat full of African vibes and more than enough to blow the cobwebs away, put them somewhere between Little Comets and Vampire Weekend. The track is officially being released on December 10th but you get get a free download alongside ‘East India Trading Company’ now.
Shout Timber are a four piece from London and worked with Tarek Musa who has also been working with Eye Emma Jedi, who previously featured on Tune of the Week with ‘Sin’.
The two tracks released this way compliment each other quite well. ‘Rich Man’ is upbeat and going on the lyrics just a tad extravagant. The rhythm for “East India Trading Company’ comes from a train bell and gives the impression of just enjoying a journey through India. Interesting combination.
Shout Timber are playing a couple of gigs in the UK before Christmas, on December 3rd they play The Water Rats, London supporting Animal Kingdom and on December 4, you’ll find them in Birmingham at the Actress & Bishop, supporting Jaws.
