The guys from Goldenplec are doing some mad stuff tomorrow, driving from Portmarnock to Achill and back, stopping off along the way for a cuppa, some toast and a song from a local band, raising a few quid along the way for Down Syndrome Ireland.
Here’s some info:
This unique guerilla gigging event will see Team Goldenplec travel from Portmarnock to Achill and back stopping in every county we pass through having tea, toast and a one song gig from a local band. The event is to raise money for our chosen charity Down Syndrome Ireland and will help promote small acts across the country. We have kindly got three lovely sponsors for the day. Meteor are providing us with mobile interest access across the country, Lyons are putting the talk in our tea and Johnston Mooney & O’Brien are providing us with the bread from Ireland’s oldest bakery to make our toast.
It takes place this Friday, 6th April starting at 7.30am with a band called Jail Chase and we will continue across the country to meet a band in every county to hear them play a one song gig and share some tea and toast with us. We will be recording each “one song gig” and sharing these videos out through Youtube / Twitter / Facebook throughout the day and via Goldenplec.com.
All are welcome to the finale in Malahide to join us for some tea, toast and some music from the many lovely acts who have agreed to join us and play a song or two. We anticipate to be back in Malahide Yacht Club around 8pm, as long as there are no delays on the route.
