There’s nothing better in the world than finding a piece of music that makes you sit up and take notice from the first note. And from the opening second of ‘Indulge’, the buzz from the electric guitar gives a slight raw feeling but when Jones‘ vocals kick in, with just the oh-so-right amount of reverb the two combine to give you, ok me, the shivers.
And they are good shivers. The production on ‘Indulge’ beautifully balances the lyrics and vocals, simplistic but beautifully full.
‘Indulge’ is the title track from Jones’ EP which was released last week. I really need to find out more about Jones. I know ‘Deep’ was released last year and was a great initial calling card.
Seemingly Jones has worked with a number of collaborators on this EP. “Ninja Tune artist Raffertie (on Indulge), alt-pop mastermind (and brother of Jai) A. K. Paul (on You), plus XL’s resident producer Rodaidh McDonald and newcomers Brunelle (on Deep).”
Indulge is a beautiful track, listen to it and let it under your skin. Amazing.
