Tune of the Week // Caan – Changes

tune of the week caan nessymon

Ex – Ou Est Le Swimming Pool singer, Caan, is back with the Mkulu produced ‘Changes’

It’s a while since we’ve heard from ex – Ou Est Le Swimming Pool’s Caan but he’s been a busy boy since ‘Into the Night’.  Caan has been off making some bangers with Loadstar, Frankee as well as My Nu Leng/MTA’s ‘Horizons’.

Mkulu‘s production on the track is outstanding, the instrumentation is subtle and beautifully balanced with Caan’s vocals. ‘Changes’ is a great urban pop track but also has it’s hip hop sensibilities with it’s music production and the lyrical content. Hopefully this means that we’ll finally get to see an album from the Camden native.

‘Changes’ is another real gritty look at London and this follows through in the black and white video for the track directed by Chas Appeti. Interestingly (and cleverly), Caan has teamed up with Tommy Danvers’ 808 Drinks and Felix Howard to produce the visuals – (sponsorship ahoy?)

From the outside Grime seems to be taking over, but this is the sound of real London.

‘Changes’ is out now on Cats and Cream.
