The London Ear // David Turpin – Writer of The Winter Lake

Today’s show was the last to be broadcast on DAB in Ireland and I was delighted to be joined by screenwriter David Turpin. I remember just before I moved to London, sitting in Trinity College, speaking to David for what was then, Culture Café. I told him about my move and how I was thinking of changing the name of the radio show to The London Ear. He approved. The London Ear was born.

Here’s a little bit more info about the move to to online.

In Conversation with David Turpin

Zoom Chats With David Turpin

I’ve spoken to David Turpin a couple of times on the radio over the years. He’s a talented creative who by day is a screenwriter and by night, makes music under the guise, The Late David Turpin.

Regarding his film work, I previously spoke to David in relation to his first film, The Lodgers, which was also produced by Tailored Films in Ireland.

The past year has been difficult for the arts, the film world included. We spoke about those trials, including the new ways of releasing films. We also spoke about David’s days on the set of The Winter Lake.

The Winter Lake is now available to buy/watch on demand on your favourite streaming service. You can find out more about David Turpin on his website.
