Sophie B Hawkins has released a new track from her forthcoming album ‘The Crossing’ which is due for release soon. This is a cover of the Nina Simone track, ‘Sinnerman’. Sophie hasn’t been known for shying away from her political ideals here she interprets this classic with gusto, emotion and intensity. She also has re-embraced a raw layered percussive and vocal combo that came to prominence in ‘Timbre’. I’d love to hear more of that on ‘The Crossing’.
