#Project365: 111-120

So I’ve reached Day 120. I know I’m quite far behind in this but, I will keep going and try to get 365 photos published before April 1 2020.

As it stands, that means I’ve to 245 in six months or so. Gulp!

What I’ve learned with this batch of photos is that people also like a story with a photo. Sometimes the image isn’t enough. It might look nice but that alone isn’t enough. People want a reason to read an relate to an image. I guess that’s why lots of people say they don’t ‘get’ art. They need an emotional connection too.

“We see things they’ll never see..” OK, I see things. Sometimes I wonder if I take a photo will people like it, will they not? More often than not the photos I like will get less likes etc etc so it’s probably just as well I’m trying to do this #Project365 thing to make me do more rather than to get shedloads of likes etc. Can’t really be arsed with all that. I like taking photos, I want to get better at taking photos. So, it’s all for me. If people happen to like a photo, that’s great. I was sitting on the tube and copped this. Two trains in the station, I’m on one train, those people are on the other. But you can also see two other people, who are standing on the two platforms. The guy in the blue shirt and the reflection of a guy with a backpack on the platform behind me. Thought it was cool. #nessymon365 114/365 #underground #tfl #travel #tube #thetube #london #reflections #peoplewatching #mytinyatlaslondon #exploringlondon #londonbylondoners #ig_london #londondisclosure #londoncollective #metropolis_london #itssolondon #londonist #london_city_photo #mysecretlondon #londonguru #londonforyou #londonstreets #thelondonlifeinc #londonsbest #london_enthusiast

Looking out at a changed city. I took this two weeks ago when I was on the 14 bus, taking me past all my old haunts and places where I used to live. I’ll be six years in London this weekend. (How the hell did that happen?) Dublin still has all the old sights and streets. Although some places have opened and closed, it’s still a familiar, comfortable place. But it’s still strange and jarring when the names of places and even some of the old haunts have changed, or worse, been completely torn down. I chat to @asmythmusic about this and his upcoming gig in London and more on #thelondonear on #RTE2XM on Saturday at 1pm. Tune in! Took this shot with my new 30mm 1.4 Sigma lens, just trying it out. I love the shallow depth of field. #Project365 #nessymon365 115/365 #dublin #dublinlife #dublinigers #dublin4all #dublindaily #dublino #visitireland #visitdublin #ireland #discoverireland #RTE2XM #discoverdublin #tourist #travel #tourismireland #dublinbus #dublinmydarling #dubliner #instaireland #igdublin #dublinstagram #irishblogger #irishabroad #irishinlondon

I will admit I do love autumn, there’s more of a chance I can go outside and not get sunburned. As the sun gets lower in the sky, there’s a beautiful light and long shadows that creep across everything. However, I’m not a huge fan of the evenings getting dark so early. Here’s Brighton’s West Pier, taken ten days ago at sunset. It was 27 degrees at 830pm. Today, I wore a woolly jumper. Winter is coming. #Project365 #nessymon365 116/365 #brightonrocks #Brighton #igersbrighton #brightonig #brighton #brightonuk #lovebrighton #thisisbrighton #tourist #travel #visitsussex #ig_travel #cobblestones #brightonlife #irishblogger #hove #westpier #nessymon #sunset #reflection #boat #englishchannel

So I’m now six years in London. Someone once told me that the only way to survive it was to get out of it as much as you can. I think they might be right. There’s always way too many people around, which is one of the reasons I love going to Dublin. Here’s Exchequer Street in Dublin, one week day afternoon a couple of weeks ago. I love the colours, I love the clouds and while other people may wait for the perfect ‘subject’ to cross their view, this reminded me of something else I love to stretch out my arms, walk down the street and not touch anyone. You wouldn’t get that on Oxford Street! #Nessymon365 #Project365 117/365 #dublin #dublinlife #dublinigers #dublin4all #dublindaily #liffey #dublino #visitireland #visitdublin #ireland #discoverireland #discoverdublin #tourist #travel #tourismireland #dublinmydarling #dubliner #instaireland #igdublin #dublinstagram #home #architecture #dublinstreets #georgian #baileathacliath

Went for a walk in our local park yesterday for the first time in ages. It wasn’t too busy, which was nice. It meant I could get reaquainted with some of the locals. I’m delighted with this shot, the first of the autumn squirrel photos for 2019. Autumn means I can get out and take more photos without the risk of burning to a crisp everytime sun rays hit me. Expect lots of new photos! Have a great week! #nessymon365 #Project365 118/365 #squirrel #hithergreen #lewisham #natureintheconcretejungle #natureknthecity #london #mytinyatlaslondon #exploringlondon #londonbylondoners #ig_london #londondisclosure #londoncollective #metropolis_london #itssolondon #londonist #london_city_photo #mysecretlondon #londonguru #londonforyou #londonstreets #thelondonlifeinc #londonsbest #london_enthusiast

Feeding the ducks. I saw this little family feeding the birds at the lake on Sunday and thought it was very cute. Ducks, pigeons, Canadian geese, they all wanted a bite! I’m not entirely quackers about all the birds in the park but I have a photo in my head that I want to take of all the pigeons just taking off. It could take me a while to get it but I will!! #Nessymon365 #Project365 119/365 #birdfeeders #feedingthebirds #hithergreen #lewisham #natureinthecity #peoplewatching #london #mytinyatlaslondon #exploringlondon #londonbylondoners #ig_london #londondisclosure #londoncollective #lake #itssolondon #londonist #london_city_photo #mysecretlondon #londonguru #londonforyou #reflection #thelondonlifeinc #londonsbest #london_enthusiast
