Here’s an event I would really love to go to, I was asked if I would go to Cork but couldn’t because of college commitments and a previous engagement means I’m going to miss Another Honest Jons Chop Up in Vicar St on November 1st.
The good folk at ChoiceCuts are celebrating their tenth birthday this year and they’ve got together with West London Label Honest Jon to bring artists like artists such as Damon Albarn, Tony Allen, Flea, Hyponotic Brass Ensemble, Phil Cohran, Fatoumata Diawara, Theo Parrish, M.Anifest.. performing and collaborating in one unique fully rehearsed 2 and a half hour show. This is one of four shows they’re doing..
Honest Jon is co-owned by Damon Albarn and specialises in releasing stuff from post- war black music in Britain to African highlife, from 70s English folk to modern Southern Soul. All together on one stage.. Awesome to the extreme.
