Hogan have been around for a few years now and have just released the album ‘Boom’ from which the single ‘Five Years On’ is taken.
The single is an driving rock track that you can dance to and was produced by Greg Havers (Manics, The Lost Prophets, Melanie C).
It is a grower and after a couple of listens the track does draw you in more. The first vocal line kind threw me off a bit with what seems to be a faux accent, perhaps trying bring the band into the Pop/punk market. Luckily this doesn’t arise later in the track.
There’s some good musicianship and great drumming, going on this once Hogan find where their musical home is, they’ll be sorted. Should hear more of this around.
