Tune of the Week: Public Service Broadcasting – Gargarin

PSB_Space

Public Service Broadcasting are back and for their second album, due out on February 2015, they are looking at ‘The Race for Space’. This time round, the BFI have given PSB use of its archive of the Soviet Space Race.

‘Gargarin’, based on Yuri, the first cosmonaut in space, is released as a single on December 1st. If you pre-order the album now, you’ll get an automatic download on December 1st.

PSB are so clever with the combination of samples and visuals for their videos that easily spills over to their live shows. They go on tour with Kaiser Chiefs in February before two album launch shows in the National Space Center in Leicester. The band then head off to the US and to SXSW before coming back to the UK and Ireland for an album tour.

Back to the single and its awesome video. It’s the best thing you’ll see all week.
