TheMoulettes

Tune of The Week 19/05/2014 // The Moulettes – Lady Vengeance

First time I heard this, I fell for the combination of dark indie and baroque pop, coming together for something extraordinary. And that’s before I even get started on the fantastic animated video that accompanies this track.

The Moulettes have been playing their brand of music together since 2002 and Lady Vengeance is taken from their third album ‘Constellations’ which will be out on June 2nd. Constellations will be the band’s first release on Navigator Records.

The album was recorded in and around Brighton and features some guests such as “legends Arthur Brown (“God of Hellfire”) and Herbie Flowers (Lou Reed/David Bowie) and contemporaries Blaine Harrison (Mystery Jets), The Unthanks and Emma Richardson (Band Of Skulls), Brighton dub troubadour Faye Houston and dubstep producer Mike Dennis (Dface)”. Quite an impressive line up!

The Moulettes themselves contain a pletora of self taught and classically trained musician and I think it’s this blend that gives them the range of influences which can be heard in their music.

The track also boasts a stunning animated accompaniment. I have to find out more about who made this, it’s fantastic. Check it out below!
