Tune of the Week: Aiden: Satisfy Me ft. Thaddaeus Tribbett

aidenThere’s something quite liberating to see an ex-X Factor contestant break free from the chains and reveal their true selves. Now known, simply as Aiden, not to be confused with aidan, Aiden Grimshaw has recently released a self titled 4 track E.P.

He’s been co-writing with Dimitri Tikovoi, who has previously worked with, Charlie XCX, Mikky Ekko, Goldfrapp, and Paloma Faith an the EP has a deep electro pop feel. Every time I listen to the E.P., I have a favourite track. As I started writing this, the seriously danceable ‘Better Man’ was going to be Tune of the Week. The EP moves from pop to dance, Fire and Ice being a single Robbie Williams could have forgotten to write while ‘The Cleaner’ reminds me of Delphic.

This is the first in a new direction for Aiden and if he continues to produce tracks of this standard, which are helped along with mixing from Neil Comber, we’ll be hearing a lot more from Aiden.

The video was made by Crowns, a London based art collective and a naked Aiden has snakes wrapped around him and a scorpion sitting on his shoulder. My only question is ‘Don’t they sting ?’
