The Digital Socket Awards

Yesterday saw the launch of The Digital Socket Awards, the brainchild of Peter Nangle and Ronan Hunt-Murphy.

What are The Digital Socket Awards?

The DSAs are a celebration and recognition of the Irish music of 2010. Nominated by the public and voted for by Irish music bloggers (which I’m thrilled to be a part of).

To nominate an act you can go to The Digital Socket Awards website. A couple of houserules..

  1. Each album/act must be Irish. These awards are only open to Irish bands and singers.
  2. The albums must have been released between 01/01/2010 and the 13/12/2010.
  3. Nominations close on Wednesday 22 December at 9pm.

Once an act has been nominated, it will be entered to a longlist list. Then us bloggers will vote and judge each category. The awards ceremony itself will take place in The Grand Social on February 3rd 2011.
