wondervillians ferrari Ferrari is the follow up to Wonder Villain’s debut Zola. Instead of tackling the world of soccer, this time WVs go for fast cars and this track has rapidly won me over, perhaps even more than Zola did.

The sickenly talented foursome from Derry have adapted a pop indie sound that is destined to win fans over. Uptempo with a driving synth bass line, this song will surely get the crowd going at many festivals this Summer. It’s catchy, quirky electro indie pop, glorious and delightful.. This is out on February 17th, I want to know when the album’s due.

SF-UnpluggedLast year Simon Fagan upped and left Ireland and headed off to Berlin, along the way though he started writing about some of his adventures.

In a nice little note included in this ‘Unplugged’ download, Simon tells us that he is currently working on a new album which is due out sometime this year. He’s also planning to do some touring in Europe and in the US. The ‘Unplugged’ EP is available for download, for free from Sian Records. Here’s a video for one of the tracks, ‘Tomorrow’s Another Day’.

I spoke to Fiona O’Kane from runaway Go for Culture Cafe about two weeks ago and really enjoyed the chat. Delicate Man is their second single and is the follow up to Alligator. Really liking these guys. Delicate Man has also been remixed by break-beat pioneer Paul Grogan of Rampant Records.

Looks like the rest of the Gribbin family are out to prove that big bro Ciaran, singer with INXS, isn’t the only talented one in the family. John, who trades under the name ‘Building Pictures’, now lives in New York and this is the County Derry native’s first video produced by Buffalo Pictures.
