I love the idea of this. I have been known myself to do a sean nós version of ‘Into the Groove’ and ‘Losing my Religion’. (Even funnier when done while working in a bar in London).
The tagline has to be one of the best around: Party like its 1845!

The second Poorhouse takes place on Friday 28 January from 9pm til late in Pantibar, Capel Street in Dublin.
The first one was a mixture of “traditional” performance from haunting sean nós to a trad version of “Like a Virgin” and a leaving cert irish listening test.
The next one will have poetry, song, performance and set dancing and already has a huge list of performers signed up. It should be great.
