Glen Hansard returns to his roots in his new video for ‘High Hope’. Ballymun is the setting for the Hedi Rose directed video. The ‘mun and its people are beautifully shot and I really like the slow transition from black and white to colour.
High Hope is taken from ‘Rhythm And Repose’ and recently featured in Parenthood where Glen also appeared singing the tune. The episode featured Kristina Braverman’s (Monica Potter) struggle with breast cancer. Part of the profits from the sale of High Hope on iTunes will go to the Susan G. Ballymun is about a fifteen minute walk from where I’m currently sitting. I would have loved to have been in the Shopping Centre when that busking session happened.
